- Transgender Day of Remembrance is this weekend, and more UK events have been added to the international list of vigils, talks and other goings-on.
- The November issue of Expanded Horizons is now available to read online. ‘Speculative fiction for the rest of us,’ EH is a free online magazine which aims to increase diversity in science fiction, fantasy and horror fiction.
- A man decided to shout back at the anti-abortion campaigners who shouted abuse at his partner as she attended a clinic. He videoed the scene.
- MastersDegree.net has collected their 50 Best Blogs For Following Women’s Rights Issues. Useful for those of us not taking a degree in Gender Studies, too, no doubt.
- Melissa McEwan at Shakesville blogs about some reasons that a straight, married feminist/womanist woman might have taken her husband’s name.
- Ashley at Small Strokes Fell Big Oaks discusses Feminism and Tattoos: A Woman’s Right to Ink. Gosh, I can’t believe people still refer to them as ‘tramp stamps.’
- BATGIRL VERSUS THE PAY GAP . I’ll just leave this here. US-based, but worth checking out. Holy act of Congress!
- Cindy Royal on the representation of women in Wired.
- London stand-up comedian Chris Coltrane issues a call to arms for non-sexist, non-racist comedians. Good on him.
