Battlestar Galactica<\/strong>, but the same sentiment is
reflected in lines from his \u201cEquality
Now<\/a>\u201d speech:<\/p>\n
Equality is not a concept. It\u2019s not something we should
be striving for. It\u2019s a necessity. Equality is like
gravity, we need it to stand on this earth as men and women
– and the misogyny that is in every culture is not a
true part of the human condition. It is life out of balance,
and that imbalance is sucking something out of the soul of
every man and woman who\u2019s confronted with
it.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
These two quotes sum up why I\u2019m a feminist. Equality is
not optional. I\u2019m intelligent enough, and live in a
society educated enough, that there is no excuse for me not to
aim for it. Without equality, we fail as human
beings.<\/p>\n
