It’s a shame because ComicsAlliance is normally exceptionally good as far as comics sites are concerned. They’ve run a number of feminist-friendly pieces over the time I’ve been following them. But there is the occasional sad mis-step.

Let us Oracle fans have some recognition.

Secondly that despite the fact that only Joan Jett and Cherie Currie are identifiable, they keep trying to fit the girls into the Runaways mold; Zatanna and Babs are done up as highly iconnic (and male) musicians* but they only give lip service to that in the article.

*OK, so it’d be weird to see Babs as the Catman. It’s still identifiable!
